참고로 intelligent design은 진화론만으로는 전부 설명할 수 없는 과학 현상을 창조론의 관점에서 설명하는 걸 얘기합니다. 즉, 어떤 자연과학적 현상은 도저히 어떤 초월적인 존재가 만들어낸 것이라고 밖에는 설명할 수 없는 그런 면이 있다는 견해죠. 이런 관점을 공교육기관의 과학 시간에 도입하는 것이 옳냐 그르냐를 놓고 최근 미국에서 논란이 일고 있습니다.
